The WWW (Woven Wire Weevil) is an extension of the Jeremy Davies "Evil Weevil" pattern from Alberta Canada. With the addition of tungsten and a woven wire body, the pattern takes on a whole new look. Substituting yellow/black wire produces a convincing bee/wasp imitation, and by using a chartreuse/olive combination the fly becomes a capable caddis attractor. The techniques for tying this pattern are derived from both modern tying and the 'golden age' of tying, and are well suited to intermediate tiers.

Since the pattern will ride hook-up in the water, it's a super-durable bottom-bouncing fly — perfect for any Czech nymphing and tight-line arsenal.
