Presidential "Lure Looping" on the East Gallatin

According to CBS reporter Peter Maer, president Obama had planned to learn fly fishing on the classic Montana spring creek at O'Dell Creek Ranch, near Ennis, Montana. But then rainy weather grounded the presidential helicopter and his "entourage" landed on the banks of the East Gallatin, where "Whiplike lures could be seen looping gracefully over the water."

Turns out that president Obama fished with our friend Dan Vermillion, who runs the Sweetwater Fly Shop in Livingston, and managed to hook "half a dozen fish" in less-than-ideal weather.
