Fort Smith Fire Draws Wrongful Death Suit

Three years after the fatal fire that claimed the lives of three anglers at Fort Smith, on Montana's Bighorn River, the personal representative of one victim's estate has filed suit against the lodge where the accident occurred. "Kopp's personal representative, Laurie Oswald, sued Big Horn Trout Shop Inc. in federal court last week. The lawsuit, which seeks damages and a jury trial, says the shop wasn't equipped with adequate safety equipment, including a working in-room smoke detector." Article by the Associated Press.
