RIO Products proudly announces the launch of VersiLeaders™ - the ultimate in depth control and fly presentation.

IDAHO FALLS, April 1st, 2008 – For 2008 RIO has developed a range of leaders with different densities that allow anglers to control their fly depth with great precision. The leaders (calledVersiLeaders™) are available in a variety of different sink rates, strengths and lengths for most fishing conditions.

VersiLeaders are perfect for converting a fly line instantly to a sink tip. If an angler is working a pool with a dry fly or a nymph and fish are proving elusive; simply looping on a VersiLeader and then tying on a streamer can make a huge difference to that success. No need to carry spare reels and lines! For the salmon and steelhead angler working through different pools, there is no better way to control the fly’s depth – changing leader density as pool speed changes – than with Spey VersiLeaders.

VersiLeaders™ are available in two categories; Freshwater and Spey. Each Freshwater VersiLeader is built on a 12 lb PowerFlex® core, available in 7 ft and 12 ft lengths and sold individually. The Spey VersiLeaders are built with a 24 lb PowerFlex® core, are available in 10 ft and 15 ft lengths and are sold individually, or as a complete selection incorporating all six densities of a given length.

Freshwater VersiLeaders are available in a clear intermediate (1.5 ips), slow sink (2.6 ips), medium sink (3.9 ips), fast sink (5.6 ips) and extra fast sink (7.0 ips) rate, while the Spey VersiLeaders are also available with the same sinking rates, but have the addition of a camo olive, high floating leader, that is perfect for creating a solid anchor for spey casters – especially with Scandinavian style shooting heads, like RIO’s AFS heads.

RIO’s new VersiLeaders incorporate a thin, color-coded welded to easily attach to the end loop of a fly line, while the front end of each leader has six inches of stripped monofilament core exposed, so anglers can choose to attach their tippet section with either a loop to loop join, or a surgeon’s knot.

The new range of VersiLeaders are available from all authorized RIO dealers and have a recommended retail price of $7.95 for the 7 ft leaders, $9.95 for the 10 ft leaders, $12.95 for the 12 ft leaders and $14.95 for the 15 ft leaders. The 10ft VersiLeader selection has a recommended retail price of $65.95, while the 15 ft VersiLeader selection is $85.95.
