I began wearing one-piece molded EVA sandals to pole a boat about two years ago, after waiting in the hospital for my daughter to have her tonsils out and noticing that every doctor who walked by was wearing Crocs. The appeal, for me, is the semi-closed toe and the non-marking soles, and although I wear a pair of socks to prevent sunburn while on the boat, my feet thank me for the openings while enduring the Florida humidity.
