Field & Stream Names Orvis Helios "Best of the Best"

| | Comments (0)

Not only did the testers find that the ZG Helios stood up to big fish, but the rod seemed to add distance to almost every cast, with both large and small bugs. "In fact, we observed 10-to 20-foot distance gains unfurl within a few casts for almost everyone. A 5-weight feels like a 3-weight; a 10-weight feels like an 8-weight. In the end, we were convinced you get what you pay for, and we couldn't quite say that about some other rods."

You can read our comments on the Helios in our annual review of new gear, "Four Feet of Anything."
