Fly reel maker Ted Juracsik was born in Hungary and learned his skills as a die and toolmaker there. He escaped Hungary along with 200,000 other countrymen after the Soviet Union crushed the rebellion there in 1956. Zach Matthews recently completed a 35-minute interview with the talented machinist, who came to the U.S. with almost nothing but today makes some of the most well-crafted fly reels in the world under his Tibor brand name.
