One of those early outdoors icons was Cornelia Crosby. "Fly Rod, as she signed her newspaper columns, was a crack shot, a skilled woodswoman and a great promoter of hunting and fishing in the Pine Tree State. She was even a friend of Annie Oakley, the most famous shot in the world."
