Work to Remove Michigan's Hersey Dam Started

"A northern Michigan river that teemed with trout before loggers ravaged it in the 1800s is getting a makeover — including the removal of a dam and the dredging of silt — to restore its former grandeur, officials say. Work start last week on removal of the Hersey Dam, which blocks the Hersey River north of Big Rapids." Article from The Associated Press.
