Dry Times Visit Montana Again

Releases from the Yellowtail Dam, which feeds the Bighorn, have been reduced to minimum levels, and streams and rivers all over the state are going dry. "Flows at those low levels will have long-term consequences on the fish population, Darling said. At 1,500 cfs, the side channels on the Bighorn dry up and all the fish, big and small, are crowded into the main channel." Lorna Thackeray in the Billings Gazette.
