For the first time, the U.S. national fly fishing team, which will compete in Portugal in August, will be formed from the winners of a national competition. "The U.S. has been fielding a team since 1981, but up until now the national team was chosen rather than forged from a competition. Other than the 15 members of last year's U.S. team, anglers qualified for nationals at various regionals around the country this spring."
