Florida Fly Fisherman Attacked By Alligator

Alligator populations have been on the increase in Florida for decades, and it's not unusual to see 10-footers lining the backs of popular fishing spots. According to Sam Crutchfield of Fort Pierce, who was attacked Monday while wading in Lake Istokpoga, "'They've gone through the fish, and then they started eating smaller alligators. Now all that are left are the big ones. All I know is that I won't be back on Istokpoga for a long time.'" Fortunately Crutchfield was only badly bruised in the attack.
