Along the U.S. Gulf coast they are called redfish, but on the eastern seaboard they're typically referred to as red drum or channel bass or even spottails. No matter: their behavior is the same and they provide great sport for sight-casting fly fishers. "By going slowly along a tidal creek, anglers find redfish before they are spooked.
