Betsy Gaines Quammen has begun raising money to restore the Dayan Derkh Monastery in northwestern Mongolia, closed during the Chinese religious purges in 1937. 'We wanted to engage the community in a conservation effort,' Quammen said." Joan Haines in the Bozeman Daily Chronicle.
