A nice piece by Dewey Hildebrand on his love for all things bamboo. Among the details, that one of the first bamboo culms used for construction of fly rods was Calcutta cane, and that the commonly used Tonkin cane is grown in China's Kwangtung Province between 1000 and 2000 feet above sea level.
